This is Twenty Six

Since I turned twenty four, I've been going through something us Millenials seem to be notorious for - The Quarter Life Crisis. I recently turned twenty six and realized that I am still dealing with this crisis on top of a new fear of being officially closer to thirty than twenty. I've hit a standstill of sorts in my life and haven't quite figured out which direction I should and want to go. I mean, don't get me wrong, I consider myself to be wildly accomplished for my age - but what I'm looking for is that genuine happiness in all aspects of my life.

I am deeply involved in a career that I love. I am a proud owner of two degrees. I am surrounded only by people who love and care about me. What more could I possibly want, right? I think the answer lies in what I choose to do with the rest of my time here now that I've completed the traditional schooling goals. And so, in my twenty sixth year, I plan to see the world. Not all at once, but throughout the years so that maybe living my life will teach me about happiness.

I started this journey as soon as twenty six hit. This year was the first time I've gone away to celebrate my birthday. While Atlantic City was just a short drive away, it was still something that correlated with what I had in mind for my birthday weekend and for growing up in general. My motto was: Stress Free Weekend, Guys. Just ask Rasha, Tiffany, or Hazel - I must've repeated it a hundred times. More importantly, I felt so much love throughout the week of my birthday and beyond. Friends from different stages of my life welcomed me into my twenty sixth year with great food and even better laughs.

As the planning process begins, I'd love to hear some of your favorite destinations, excursions, and just any good ol' travel tips for this noob. In the mean time, next up on my travel agenda? Cancun, Mexico!
